“Simplicity”
There are many words to describe the singing group “Simplicity”. The words honest, pure, talented, sweet, focused, intelligent, and gifted are just a few.They have been singing since they were four and five years old. First, we have the twins, Starr and Sha’tarr who are 17 years old and last, but not least we have Tasia who is 16 years old. The three sisters are from Brooklyn, NY, where they call the Coney Island section their home. Their mixture of R&B, with a touch of Hip-Hop blends smoothly with their gospel background. I am sure many would agree their sound is timeless. The ladies may be young by the industry’s standards, but they are very experienced. They have performed in many venues in New York City, like BET’S 106&PARK, HARLEM WEEK AT 135TH STREET, THE SUGAR BAR, BB KING’S, APOLLO, THE WINGATE FIELD AND BET’S BLAZE DA’ STAGE AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY. Simplicity also performed throughout South Carolina and Texas. Starr, Sha’tarr and Tasia are inspired by all of the young artists of today, and have been influenced by the SUPREMES, ARETHA FRANKLIN, PATTI LABELLE, DESTINY’S CHILD, MARY J. BLIGE AND MARIAH CAREY to name a few. Their father, who is their manager, songwriter and biggest fan, has always been a major part of their career.
