LOVE JONES GIRLZ – AUGUST 2010 – R&B

BIO:

Fresh off their win on “Faces In The Crowd Showcase” in New York, Love Jones Girlz showed they truly do have a Love Jones. When these 4 girls hit the stage, no one can deny they have a love jones for performing. However as Claire, K.C., Taylor and Natalia got to know each other they found they had much more in common. There were all going through the same thing…adolescence!

With most teenagers there is a rebellion afoot. You know you’re not a kid anymore, yet you’re not an adult. There can be respectful or disrespectful confrontation of the status quo. For most teens comes the desire to have more separation from parents, test boundaries, challenge authority, relationships, dealing with issues at school, peer pressure and bullying. On top of al that, for girls comes, girls that hate on you and of course “boys”.

Love Jones Girlz started to realize they have a bigger mission and purpose, not only to set a high standard with their music and performing, but to be a voice for kids that are going through what they are going through. Love Jones Girlz is more than a girl group, it’s a movement. This is reflected in the music and subject matter the group tackles, from the debut single “Don’t Wannabe Creepin” to songs like “Guilty”, “The Way of Love” and “Girl Hater.” There is a level of sophistication in the music not expected from teenagers.

The group came together by way of Charlie Jones, the Emmy Award winning TV production mixer and sound designer whose credits range from “BET’s 106 & Park” and “The Chris Rock Show” to “The Marriage Ref”, “The Nate Berkus Show” and “Elvis Costello – Spectacle with”. Jones is also a member of NARAS, NATAS and AES (Audio Engineering Society). “I knew the timing was right and when the girls first came together, they had a chemistry that was raw and organic”.

Claire Jones, K.C. Hughes, Taylor Jones and Natalia Amaya were seasoned performers in their own right before they came together. Three of the group’s members, Claire, Natalia and Taylor were groomed at “Tada”, the award winning New York based youth Theatrical Ensemble. The ensemble members range in age from 8 to 18. Tada creates an indelible work ethic and emphasizes the triple threat approach to career success. The 4th member K.C. was performing and acting in her own right. One of her most recent roles was for “Law and Order, SVU”. Each girl brings her own unique style and life perspective to the group, allowing each girl to relate to a wide range of tweens, teens and young adults.
