sdc10535

Born and raised in the notorious Park Heights area in the west side of Baltimore, Md.

Chandrice Blandin affectionately known as Elle_S, has been publicly performing since

the tender age of 2. She started singing in her church choir along with her other

siblings. As she got older , she realized that she had a knack for the written word.

She then began  writing poetry, and doing spoken word. Around the time that

Queen Latifah released her smash hit U.N.I.T.Y ,  Elle_S became enamored with the

hip hop way of life and decided that that was where she could best showcase her

talents.

Over the last six or seven years Elle_S has created her own special blend of Hip Hop

And R&B. Combining a soulful , gritty sound with street wise lyrics there is no obstacle

too trying for Elle to tackle. Whether it is a collaboration or her own track, she has

always been known to take things a step above the norm. Having worked with

numerous Baltimore artists such as ; N.O.E, Bossman, Comp, Skarr Akbar, Mully

Man, Sisqo, and many, many more, this young lady’s reputation is that she is

highly respected for her musical prowess, and most definitely her grind on the

underground Hip Hop scene.

100 GRAND BIO:

New York City, the birthplace of Biggie and Jay introduces a new MC aiming

to make his mark on the world of hip-hop. The young Mc goes by the name of 100 Grand. Grand was born Seth Munford to

middle class parents of African American and

Hispanic descent, in Laurelton, Queens. While growing up, 100 Grand was

motivated by many legendary rappers to come out of New York, however it was the West coast rapper Tupac Shakur who inspired

him to begin writing poetry at the age of

ten.

By the time he was eleven Grand had developed a flow of his own and began

rhyming to the amazement of his family and friends. Though he enjoyed rapping Grand did not begin to consider rapping as a

career until he began college. While he continued pursuing his major for Business Management, Grand began working

closely with a team of other entertainers with dreams of their own. However due

to unforeseen circumstances this venture did not flourish. Although unsure of

his next move Grand kept pushing for his dream. 100 Grand prepared himself for

his introduction in this industry as a powerhouse MC with lyrical prowess, and the

release of his first mixtape, Grand Opening Vol. 1 that was his launching pad. “I’m

hoping just to bring hip-hop back to its original essence when it was about

making heartfelt music, and bringing out different emotions in people,” Grand

openly states. Soon after Grand began to garner a buzz, however it was the

release of his mixtape, Grand Opening Vol. 2 that he garnered the notoriety from New York City’s underground hip-hop circuit.

Driven to not only be a successful artist and musician, DJ also wants to reach people around the world with his music on a deeper level as MJ did so well.

Now fully knowing the gifts he has been blessed with, DJ lives daily by the quote “Discover your uniqueness, then discipline yourself to develop it”. DJ works diligently to hone and master his gifts of writing, singing, and producing, as he well knows talent alone is never enough.

DJ is truly a student of the craft; studying different genres of music in order to create a versatile style of music he calls his own. With a quiet, humble, and professional demeanor, DJ carries himself with the firm desire to be a prominent new artist who brings an element of realness in his music.

Simplicity - October 2009 - R&B

Listen: “I’m The Bomb” Feat. Jay Murda

simplicity1

“Simplicity”
There are many words to describe the singing group “Simplicity”. The words honest, pure, talented, sweet, focused, intelligent, and gifted are just a few. They have been singing since they were four and five years old. First, we have the twins, Starr and Sha’tarr who are 17 years old and last, but not least we have Tasia who is 16 years old. The three sisters are from Brooklyn, NY, where they call the Coney Island section their home. Their mixture of R&B, with a touch of Hip-Hop blends smoothly with their gospel background. I am sure many would agree their sound is timeless. The ladies may be young by the industry’s standards, but they are very experienced. They have performed in many venues in New York City, like BET’S 106&PARK, HARLEM WEEK AT 135TH STREET, THE SUGAR BAR, BB KING’S, APOLLO, THE WINGATE FIELD AND BET’S BLAZE DA’ STAGE AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY. Simplicity also performed throughout South Carolina and Texas. Starr, Sha’tarr and Tasia are inspired by all of the young artists of today, and have been influenced by the SUPREMES, ARETHA FRANKLIN, PATTI LABELLE, DESTINY’S CHILD, MARY J. BLIGE AND MARIAH CAREY to name a few. Their father, who is their manager, songwriter and biggest fan, has always been a major part of their career.
THESE LADIES ARE TRULY DESTINED FOR
GREATNESS!!!

Line For Line (LFL) - October 2009 - Hip Hop

Listen: “Son”

lfl-pic

BIO:
LFL is an acronym forLine for Line.” It can also be seen or heard as “LineLine” or “L for L.” LFL simply started as just an idea R.E.D. had contemplated for awhile. Naturally he has a reaction to go “line for line” with any rapper or any mike, at any time and when the time is right. From conception to a soon to be delivered album, R.E.D. has created the ultimate hip-hop group called “LFL.” As the source of connection, he has put together a group of talented men who are individually gifted lyrically in their own right. He is working vigorously to create an LP with LFL that is heart-felt and dangerously fresh to the hip-hop game. The concepts are above-grade and deep, yet hard and gritty like the streets. The LFL Project is a great representation of R.E.D.’s ability to form a well-balanced hip-hop group and infusing the synergy to an undisputed high!

Joshua - August 2009 - R&B

Listen: Jockin My Swag
Listen: Heart of Mine

joshua-cover1

www.myspace.com/joshuamitchell5

Joshua* started writing music in 2001 but has been a talented singer his entire life. Joshua* hails from Chicago and has appeared in various stage performances like talent shows, musicals and plays, where he’s been able to further hone his musical skills. Influenced by “all the greats” some of which consist of Prince, Sting, Ella Fitzgerald, Donny Hathaway and Michael Jackson, Joshua* shines on his first recording project “A Soul Progressive”. His style of music is described as R&B with a Pop/Soul appeal and he definitely puts a lot of his own “soul” into each of his songs. Inspired and motivated by Life’s experiences as well as the experiences of others, Joshua* creates interesting and dynamic lyrics. He believes that “everyone has something that sets them apart, but some are too afraid at times to really shine true.” Since he is willing to take risks in his music and image, Joshua* doesn’t fit into the average musical artist mold. He has and continues to work with some of New York’s finest producers like Alcalyne, Grown Man Music, Chris Rob and AGONY and is set to release his next project entitled “STARDOM*” in Winter 2009.

Joshua* is a refreshing light to the music industry. He believes that there are so many groups who have the same sound and who are doing the same things musically but he knows that “the fans are hungry for something more than what they’ve been forced to eat and strives to create a platform for a more honest musical experience.

TALoNTED - August 2009 - Hip Hop

Listen: Maturity

t-aviator1

Website:      www.talonted.com

*W*hat does it take to be TALoNTED? Take a close look at New Jersey’s latest

hip-hop phenom and you’ll find the answer. With an honest and organic
approach to music, TALoNTED offers a fresh perspective to an undeniably
saturated industry.

Born the youngest of four to Nigerian parents in East Orange, New Jersey,
then moving to Newark, New Jersey, TALoNTED wrote his first rhyme at age
six.  His story of focus and ambition is powerful.  Through the
determination of his mother, TALoNTED and his family eventually moved to the
neighboring suburb of South Orange, New Jersey.  Some may say the move
resulted in the young man having a decent resume, with a B.S. from Wharton
and a J.D. from NYU.  Throughout the years he spent pursuing banging those
grades out, he NEVER ceased to keep his music movement afloat.  Performing
at a number of talent shows and colleges, including Temple, Drexel and NYU,
TALoNTED established himself as an up-and-coming artist whose passion and
aspirational flavor inspire listeners to think outside the box and explore
limitless possibilities.

TALoNTED’s music reveals the many facets of a person that just can’t be
boxed in or easily categorized.  He introduces us to the new rap hero
prototype. With hopes of his music touching the globe and representing, as
he puts it, “renaissance men and women,” hip hop has been introduced to
something new. Something daring.  Something special.

F-MOS - July 2009 - Hip Hop

Listen: “Yeah Yeah”www.myspace.com/FMOS www.FMOSmusic.com www.twitter.com/FMOS If you’re listening...if you’re REALLY listening, then take a step into Harlem, NY, a community that has produced some of Hip Hop’s most successful artists. A place that Hip Hop artist F-MOS, also known as the Better Pen calls his home. Growing up, F-MOS caught his spark in street battles across New York City. A star athlete in high school, F-MOS put his basketball career behind him to enroll in Fordham University on an academic scholarship, the summer of 1998. However, it was during that summer, filled with street battle accolades and long studio sessions that would change his life and pave a new path for him. “I like to say after that summer I spent four years learning and four years waiting”, states MOS. In late 2001, F-MOS caught the attention of the newly formed camp of Krucial Keys, spearheaded by now Grammy-award winning singer, Alicia Keys. After graduating from Fordham in 2002, F-MOS inked a production/management deal with Alicia and Krucial Keys to the dismay of a number of interested major labels. It was during that time that F-MOS completed his anticipated mini-album, “The Better Pen”, but also made the decision to part ways with the production company. In 2004, F-MOS formed Street Heat Incorporated, a New York based onestop independent music company composed of Hip Hop and R&B music, marketing, and promotions. MOS chimes in, “This movement is to prove that I’m so much more than an artist with a demo!” Currently, F-MOS’ main project is titled Bringing New York Back! (BNYB). With his focus being to preserve the heat of NY Hip Hop culture, Mos states, “This project was sparked by the need to bring back classic East Coast music and snatch back the New York swagger”. Culminating all the elements of Hip Hop in NY from production, to lyrics, to artist, BNYB promises to rep where Hip Hop started…as well as where it’s headed. Once again being heavily courted by industry insiders and underground icons alike, F-MOS is the rap chauffeur poised to drive Hip Hop. If you’re REALLY listening….the movement is here and his name is F-MOS!
