Dayna Monet - Dec. 2007 - R&B

Dayna Monet is eighteen years old and has been singing since she was two and a half years old. She have always had a love for music and singing and at a very young age she knew there was nothing else she would rather do with her life. Dayna began writing songs at the age of eleven and really began performing in front of audiences once she was fourteen. She has been in numerous talent shows, competitions and performances since then and Dayna has even had the opportunity to audition for American Idol and made it past the first round of auditions back in August of 2007. She has also competed in the OmegaPsi Phi Talent Hunt competition where she placed first overall andthen went on to the regionals where she place second in the contemporary vocalist category; both of which happened in 2007. More recently, Dayna competed in a Talent Showcase in New York where she placed second. There are so many people that she has looked up to over the years musically and some of them include Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Phyllis Hyman, TLC, and so many more.

Dayna am currently working trying to save money for college. She is still keeping busy with  music, writing and recording, and meeting new influential people who are helping her get ahead. College is just a crutch for Dayna because her main focus is really  music. Dayna would leave school in a heartbeat if I got a record deal. That is how confident and driven she is. Right now, she is just trying to get as much information as possible about the industry and get as much exposure as possible.

In the future, Dayna hopes to be a huge success. She wants to always
shoot for greatness with projects, travel the world, and receive the accolades she deserves. She also wants to tackle the acting world and has even thought about doing a little modeling. Eventually, Dayna would like to own her own record label and make other people’s dreams come true. There is nothing in this world that Dayna would rather do for the rest of her life except music. It is the only thing that truly makes her happy. Dayna Monet will stop at nothing to get to the top!
