I was born and raised in Staten Island,New York in a hood known as New Brighton aka Now Born. I grew up listening to Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, and Slick Rick. I was into boxing allot and when I went on tournaments to fight, I would put my cd in my player and zone out. At that time my brother was making music; so that’s what I would listen to. What started me writing my own music was in junior high school,at lunch time everybody from every hood would gather around the lunch table and start free styling. After a few times of listening to everyone I said to myself “Shit I can do that.” and I did. After the first time I spit and got the responds that I did, I just kept on writing everyday so I would have something new for everyone to hear. When I got to high school I met up with some kids that were just as interested in music as I was. We got together and formed a group called ” Forever United”. The group began writing together everyday we also had to hustle so we could get enough money for studio time. The music that we were making was so good that it created a buzz in the hood. We started to meet up to practice because we started to do shows. After we would preform people would give us beats just so they could say that they had a track from Forever United. As the group got older we started to have different ideas on what type of music we should be doing. I had met this white kid by the name of “DL” he would dj at allot of house and techno clubs along with hip hop clubs. DL mixed all the sounds in one and said Flood ” I got this sound that your group would sound crazy on.” I let them hear it but no one wanted to fuck with it. I loved the sound so I ran with it. The sound is so different everyone ask me what kind of music is this? Is it hip hop, pop or what? I would tell them it’s neither, the sound that you are hearing is my own and it is called “Get it Music”
