H. Wood (aka Holliewood) - a force exuding positive synergy, and an emcee born with a mind filled with eminence and substance. It is time for the world to witness his full potential unleashed. Holliewood has an assignment: his mission is to bring quality back to the music industry. Right now, the music industry has collapsed in its effort to keep up with the so-called “Hip-Hop Generation.” What happened to the Rap music that has a fresh sound, not oversaturated and doesn’t degrade women? Why is there so much profanity? Who can the industry count on to maintain a style that is unparallel. His name is Holliewood and he is from Brooklyn, New York.
Refusing to be put in a box, Holliewood is unafraid to be different. He’s known for meshing the new school of Hip Hop with the old school. Taking notes from some of the most influential people in music, from his neighbors Jay-Z and the Notorious B.I.G, to the creative forces we call Outkast, just to name a few. One listen to his music and you will notice a wide array of musical genres: a spectrum from rock, to pop, to R&B, and of course Hip-Hop. From the moment you press “Play,” his distinct baritone grabs you, forcing anticipation of what’s to come, and you can be sure that one song never sounds the same as the last.
On tracks like the infectious “Cook It Up” Holliewood’s melodic swag slurs over the sleek “Bananna Bros” produced track as he uses the metaphor of cooking to describe a sexy night out with that special lady. On “Jukebox” Holliewood allows you to join him as he explores the idea that love can be like a Jukebox. He made sure not to forget where he’s from with tracks like “Brooklyn Keeps on Takin’ It” and“No Sleep til Brooklyn (2008)”. Holliewood often referred to as H.Wood continues to manage his ability to be different with tracks like the eighties inspired “Flyest Girl” as he takes you out in NYC and explores the club determined to find the flyest girl.
