Jerzee “Tha Icon” an up & coming hip hop artist who is about to hit the industry by surprise. His devotion to the music as inspired many and is going to catch millions. In the booth he is a professional and on stage he is the ultimate performer, giving his audience their money worth when it comes to performing in front of hundreds and even thousands, bringing his creative versatility to urban music in order to shake up the industry.
Sean Virgil aka Jerzee was born in Montreal and raised in East Orange, New Jersey. Jerzee started songwriting and performing at the age of 12 giving him 11 years of experience as an artist. For the past year, this 22 year-old has been busy in the studio writing lyrics, co-producing beats and working close with his producers; Rob(MadHitz), Mark (ball Park Figures), J Staff, and G- Vine (PHS Recordings) on his debut album.
His first single “What It Do to Ya” was released in the summer of 2006 and the public is eating it up! With lyrics written by Jerzee and produced by Rob Provo of MadHitz Entertainment, the track has a definite Hip-Hop sound, with a mixture of the east / southern feel to it. “What It Do to Ya” had a high rotation on Flow 93.5, and Z103.5 and is receiving airplay on 91.5 The Beat, Wild 101.1, and 93.7 WBLK in Buffalo. Other major stations across the country were also playing the track within a few weeks.
It hasn’t all been studio work; Jerzee’s stage performance has been seen by small and large audiences across Canada. He has performed at High Schools, Colleges, Universities, Freestyle Competitions, Concerts, Fund raising events, Clubs, and, just to name a few. Jerzee has performed in the US and Canada frequently at various venues, and has also opened for major industry artists. He was the emcee at one of Ontario’s hottest clubs NRG Kingdom in Burlington for 3 years. His Saturday night parties at that club were advertised on the radio religiously, and extremely popular. His Songwriting and Performance skills are unique, emotional, intelligent and energetic.
Jerzee gives respect to artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Biggie, Tupac, Jay-Z, Fall Out Boys, OUTKAST, Mr. Marvin Gaye and producers Pharell Williams and Timberland. Their work inspires him to pursue his career diligently and methodically. He works closely with his producers and other members of FameCity to create his original sound and music.
On his off time Jerzee likes to read, party and travel. He dedicates any spare time to his family. He is dedicated to the success of his music and continues to work day and night to achieve this goal.
